My Work

After more than six years of working in newsrooms, I have gained experience reporting on stories that represent a variety of cultures and communities. I've also worked in a variety of markets, from my college town, to the whole state of Missouri, then the Delhi metro area, to Los Angeles, and now a mix of national and international work.

Here's a sampling of my favorite pieces I've written or contributed to, published in Upstream News, Los Angeles Times, Times of Entrepreneurship, Missouri Business Alert, and the Indian Express.

LA Times

Upstream News

Starting in April 2021, I moved to Houston, Texas, to start covering the oil and gas industry for Upstream News, an international trade weekly renowned in the energy industry. I specifically covered energy transition and was the first energy transition-specific reporter for the publication, until I became the newspaper's primary reporter for all of North America. Below are a couple recent clips I'm proud of, but you can see all of my articles here.

Los Angeles Times

The summer after graduating from Mizzou, I interned with the Company Town team at Los Angeles Times. I wrote features and general news assignments about the business of the entertainment industry. You can see all my clips here.

Freelance

The two articles below were published in Times of Entrepreneurship, a new online publication covering entrepreneurs around the world.

Missouri Business Alert

For much of my reporting career and education I was based in Missouri, where I reported for a variety of news outlets, including Missouri Business Alert and the Columbia Missourian. The following are my top clips from Missouri Business Alert. At that publication, which is a statewide, online business publication, I also hosted and produced a weekly podcast for several months. You can see my podcasts, and other pieces I produced for the podcast, here.

Work in Missouri

Cape Town, South Africa

The summer after my freshman year of college, I went to South Africa for three weeks with my university. Each student was responsible for producing a multimedia project of their choosing using interviews with prominent members of the Cape Town community and archival footage from the Mayibuye Archives. I chose to explore the history of Black theater during and after apartheid.
